Yeh Royce probably not a bad bike, but not real keen on the hole where do i get parts from and or plastics and just out right knowledge on the TM brand...... Italians are known for great things, that are unreliable.

mine hasn't missed a beat yet apart from wear and tear items, chains sprockets etc seem a fairly strong bike especially the way i treat it

A guy rides a 449 supermoto at Lakside SWS, I can catch him easy on my DRZ400. I reckon it doesn't have much more power than the DRZ. I have much more trouble trying to slipstream and outbrake the WR450's, CRF450's, KTM 450 SMR's, etc. I know I am talking supermoto's here, but the engines are similar in the dirt and supermoto models. I think the TE449 and supermoto version have the same motor.

As a comparison here I am following a KTM 450 SMR and a Aprillia SVX550, you can see I have to work a lot harder. Then at 3:19 a TM450 comes past and hands me my arse. He is one of the best supermoto riders in QLD though

I don't know about the 449 S/M but the TE 511 is on a whole different level to a DRZ 400,
the only other modern 4 stroke I've ridden is a 2010 KTM 530 and my 511 was a lot more responsive and
was quite a bit faster up to around 120kph or so.

Yeah wes beau goes alright on the TM450, we are heading out for a bit of a run this arv to do some testing, the aussie titles are not far away, That 450 is a lot faster now but still nothing compared to the TM660 he now has aswell

A DRZ is about 40HP, with a aftermarket pipe and simple things it can get to mid 40's. The TE449 is only about 46/47HP. They aren't much different. Especially after both get restricted back down to meet noise requirements for that track.

The TC449 has more power.
