 Husky TE449 2012/2013
Husky TE449. Thinking of purchasing one of these bikes in the near future with the price of these bikes at such a great price of around $8500 on road. Would be keen to hear some reviews from you guys about what ever you know about these bikes. So far from what i have read up on and seen on youtube bike reviews they seem to be a good if not great bike, just would like the long term review if you understand what i mean. Cheers

Never trust a husky again. Bike went good but valves shit and the two year warranty is not worth the paper its written on
If you were a fastidious husky mechanic i would say go for it but i dont even think husky mechanics ride them

yeah +1 I don't think hes had any electrical gremmlins like the previouse years models.and in three years the valve clearance hasn't needed any adjusting. HUSKIES ARE AWSOME

 Re: Husky TE449 2012/2013
Wouldn,t bother with a 449 if you can get a 511 for the same sort of money, mine was good,I think people think they are like the older style TE's with all their electrical and valve issues, valves didn,t move on mine in over 4000ks and pretty much zero problems. They are real heavy in the arse if you need to move it or it falls on you(seemed to happen to me a lot),they climb hills awsome without lifting the front end up with the CTS suspension, lummy loopout needs one I reckon. I got rid of mine after about 18 months but thats the longest I've ever kept a bike,It started running a bit funny on a ride but am pretty sure it was the throttle position sensor, I reset it and it went fine after.

Yeh Hoodlum im up in the air weather to get the 449 or the 511, its only about $200/$300 the difference and i had a test ride of the 511 the other week and found it to be quiet smooth good power for such a big bike i was surprised.

Ive got a 511. 3000ks & not one problem. 511 is smoother than a 449 & HAS POWER to burn. Keep an eye on the shifter though Ive been through 2. They need sprockets changed though. Mine came with a 15 tooth on the front & they do about 180-190ks top speed.

If you were a fastidious husky mechanic i would say go for it but i dont even think husky mechanics ride them My mate (matt te449) has a 2011 TE449 it has done over 2000km, the valves have been checked and are within specs. I have ridden it a few times, I like it a lot. I find it very easy to ride up hills like Dave said. Matt has replaced the battery and the shifter needs tightening regularly, other than that its a good thing.

I had an 09 TE 310 Never ever had any dramas at all with it. The TE449 was introduced in 2011. They were owned by BMW back then. KTM own husky now. The TE449 has the Coaxial swing arm just like the BMW G450X. It has the same engine as well. Pretty much you are buying a BMW G450X that has red--white plastics. BMW stopped making the G450X when the 2011 TE449 came on the market. In my opinion huskys sell for a lot less because not many poeple like them. Husky had a bad reputation for a while, but BMW brought them back from the dead and now KTM want a slice of the pie.

Dude I know. Adam went overseas. Sponsored by husky. Made him give up racing. They don't make the grade
